Education

It is impossible to say exactly how many threatened species there are on Earth – but latest estimates suggest there are over 25,000. The vast majority of these attract little or no attention and so their plight remains.

A key objective of our work is to educate children, and in so doing, their parents and carers, about the plight of lesser-known threatened species.

Since early 2018, author Dr Bill Egginton has been visiting schools in the UK to share his stories and raise awareness of the R.E.S.C.U.E series. The objective has not been to sell his books, on the contrary, many books have been donated. Rather it has been to share with young people the wonderful characters based on real animals that are central to our stories.

Going forward, we have plans to develop a rich set of resources that will be freely available and over time will be supporting a ‘R.E.S.C.U.E Foundation School’ on each continent to engage, enlighten and educate and ultimately bring about change.
