We know children love stories: to be told, to be read or to read for themselves. So how much better to have children’s stories with a conscience: that has always been the aim of the R.E.S.C.U.E. series.
It was in 2003 when the author and series creator, Bill Egginton – at that time working for a bank – first had the idea to create stories that would entertain and educate children with a moral or a lesson that they would understand, and using characters that were lesser-known threatened animals: the R.E.S.C.U.E series was born.
Bill resigned from the bank where he was working at the time to train to become a teacher – and looked at every age range including primary and secondary, before being offered a position as a lecturer at a university teaching post-graduate students!
With a new career and a young family, the idea and his early scribblings were shelved until 2017 when, with sons that had by this time left home, Bill found himself with time to spare and R.E.S.C.U.E was given a new lease of life.
We do hope you enjoy the stories. Any comments or feedback please do let us know and feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org
